The University of Tampa (19-0-2) won its third NCAA II men’s soccer national championship Dec. 2 when the Spartans defeated the Cal State-Dominguez Hills Toros 2-1.  Spartan forward Kareem Escayg, the hero of Friday night’s semifinal game, would be the hero for Tampa in the championship game as well. With 3:40 remaining in the game, Escayg stole a pass at midfield and led the Spartans down the field. Escayg ripped a shot from 25 yards away from the net, which deflected off a Toro defender and went just over the outstretched reach of CSUDH goalkeeper Luis Morales. For the Spartans, Escayg, Roy Fink, Marlon Rojas and Robbie Folbrycht were named to the Final Four all-Tournament Team. The Spartans won their first national championship since 1994 and completed their second undefeated season in school history. The first was in 1981, when the team was 15-0-3 and won its first national championship.

  Just a reminder. You need to go to The RSL web page to pay your Club dues . Please remember to send me a copy of your reciept. Last season RSL told one family they had not paid. The family could not find the reciept but I had a copy. I sent it to RSL and that was the end of it. Here's the instructions again on how to pay your Club Dues. Our 1st Team Dues payment will be due Aug. 7th and can be made on our team web site www.rsltampa.com  by using the paypal buttons.Once I update them on Aug.3rd. or you may mail me a check made out to RSL. I'll still except cash, for those who still like to print their own and hand it to me at practice.

  • Rain,Sleet & Snow couldn't stop these brave 8 boy's form playing.You all earned your Postman's Merit Badge. Congrat's on a Big Win 2-0. Omar made some incredible saves to secure the Shut Out. Goals by Gavin & Freddie.

  • 12/7/09 - Congradulation to the U12 (1st team)  combo team for their win over HCU. This was an outstanding game for us. The 2-1 score does not reflect our total control of this game. let's take the momentum into next weeks 11v11 game with HCU

     
  • 11/8/09 Congradulation to our boys for picking up a win on Saturday in the U12A 8v8 division. Unfortunately our winning streak lasted only one game. As we lost two hard faught games to Brandon/Players Club on Sunday.Some of the Boys showed some real Grit by playing 8v8 and
